Professional Development GranT

The VCTM Professional Development Grant Program is a grant opportunity to support current VCTM K-16 members to receive up to $1000 each to attend conferences, workshops, or to provide tuition reimbursement in math education within the year to which the recipient applies.

For conference or workshop attendance, the recipient will be reimbursed for cost of registration, hotel room, and transportation expenses upon submission of receipts of expenses to the VCTM treasurer.

For tuition reimbursement, the recipient will be reimbursed for cost of tuition upon completion of the course within the year to which the recipient applied and submission of transcript to the VCTM treasurer with a copy of tuition cost.

Recipients of this grant are only eligible to receive this grant once every five years. Submissions will be considered as applications are received. When all three grants have been awarded, the submission process will be closed for the year.

Tammy Sanford
Staunton City Public Schools

Tammy is an elementary school teacher from A.R. Ware Elementary in the Staunton City Schools district who is planning to attend the regional NCTM conference in Washington, DC in October 2023.

This experience will help me gain insight into how to support teachers in my building, and in my division to recover student learning and instruction impacted by the pandemic with innovative tools and resources. Attending the conference will allow me to stay on top of current mathematics education trends and collaborate with field leaders.
