To promote the purposes of the Virginia Council of Mathematics Specialists, VACMS:

• To support Mathematics Specialists as mathematics leaders.
• To advocate for effective,  rigorous,  and equitable mathematics instruction and assessments.
• To promote collegial collaboration among organization members.
