Grants
Most of the grants listed below are for members only!  To access an application form click on the Members Only section at left or on the grant name below.  The 1st Timer Grant for attending a VCTM conference is open to non-members, and that application is available below.  

Continuing Education Grant

The VCTM Continuing Education Grant Program is a grant opportunity of up to $1,000 for a VCTM member who is a current K-16 mathematics educator in Virginia.   The purpose of the program is to provide funding support to a VCTM member who wishes to continue his/her education in mathematics or mathematics education.  The funding for this grant can be used for tuition at an institution of higher learning, i.e. a 2-yr or 4-yr institution.  Applicant will be reimbursed for cost of tuition upon completion of the course and submission of transcript to VCTM with a copy of tuition cost. Applications must be received by November 1, 2014.

 
The VCTM Professional Development Grant Program is a one-time grant opportunity of up to $500. Two grants are awarded. The purpose of this program is to provide funding support to VCTM members who wish to attend workshops, institutes, or other professional development opportunities. Applications are due no later than May 1, 2015.

The First Timers Grant Program is named for Karen Dee Michalowicz who actively promoted and supported conference development and attendance.  The purpose of this grant is to provide funding support to VCTM members who have not previously attended but wish to attend a regional or annual NCTM meeting or to any member or non-member who wishes to attend a VCTM Annual Conference or VCTM Academy for the first time.  There are three grants available. There is one award for the regional or annual NCTM conference of $500 and there are two awards of $250 each for the state conference or academy.  The funding for this grant can be used for registration, room and board, and transportation expenses.  Applications must be received by November 29, 2014.
